graduates
For Graduate level roles we like to see a relevant degree in software engineering, web/digital or mathematics backed up by some industry experience either from a placement year or your own personal projects. You are likely to have worked with PHP, Java or .NET and as many web technologies as possible.
experienced
If you are an established developer we look for well-rounded and diverse experience working across multiple projects. Ideally you will have broad knowledge across the Microsoft stack including .NET and C# and be comfortable working in an Agile environment. A relevant degree is desirable but above all we want to see a genuine enthusiasm for software development. We can offer you the chance to work on a varied portfolio of interesting and prestigious projects for clients in the public, private and education sectors.
placements
We are very keen to identify talented individuals early in their careers and each year we take at least one undergraduate placement student to work in our web and small systems division. A placement with STCS will give you experience in a wide variety of website and software projects, mainly in PHP and open source CMS and eCommerce platforms.
degree apprenticeships
With three Degree Apprentices already working within STCS we have embraced the Government’s Degree Apprenticeship initiative that provides an opportunity to gain a degree in Software Engineering whilst working as an apprentice software developer. This excellent scheme means you can earn while you learn and even your course fees are paid for you!
